Primo Margarita: Buffalo Wild Wings

There are many times that my husband funds my margarita adventures... Saturday was one of those days. We wanted to go out for appetizers and decided on Buffalo Wild Wings. College football on the big screen, fried food, and alcoholic drinks. Sounds like a good time to me! Buffalo Wild Wings has 4 margarita options and ginger beer in my margarita did not sound appetizing. I choose the step above their house margarita, the Primo Margarita.

The Buffalo Wild Wings Primo Margarita is made with Patron Silver Tequila and Cointreau. I was ready to be disappointed in a chain restaurant margarita after my experiences with Old Chicago.... but I was pleasantly surprised! This didn't taste like a pre-made mix, it didn't taste like candy, and it didn't taste like a non-margarita which made me love it! This was nicely tart and you could taste the tequila without it being over-powering. The difference between the Primo and the House margarita, other than $1, is the house was made with Sauza Gold, triple sec, and lime juice. In my opinion, if you are going to have a margarita, have one that tastes good! Don't worry about an extra $1 for the drink.... you'll miss out on some great margaritas that way.

While the atmosphere was a little loud for relaxing with a margarita, this one had good taste. I'm glad I tried this one, I'm hoping since there are Buffalo Wild Wings everywhere you might try it too! All that being said, I'm going to give this Primo Margarita 4 out of 5 shots. It loses a half a point by being nearly $10. I know I just said don't worry about the price of a good drink, but there are other $10 margaritas out there that will knock your socks off. This one could be ordered over and over and still taste great but it didn't knock my socks off.
Happy Drinking!

  1. I had a Primo Margarita and also thought about the same thing you did. Good to know that they seem consistent!
