My Perfect Margarita

Many of you I'm sure have had a margarita or two in your life. I've had a few myself. While its nice to go out and enjoy a margarita at your local watering hole, if you are a true tequila fan you should know how to make your own.
I enjoy a basic, no nonsense style of margarita. I don't buy any of the pre-made mixes as they seem to have a chemical taste that leaves you wanting. I also enjoy a margarita that has plenty of tequila.... just a few of these will leave you feeling fine! Now onto the recipe!

100% Blue Agave Tequila (your choice, this recipe I am using Camarena because that is what I had most of on hand)
Lime Juice (squeezed yourself or you can buy the Realime brand)
Agave Nectar (I enjoy using the Agave In The Raw brand)

You'll also need a shaker to combine the ingredients.

I purchased the ingredients at a local supermarket. The Agave nectar was in the sugar or organic aisles for $6 a bottle. The Realime was also in the baking aisle for about $2.50. The tequila is the wild card. I have made this margarita previously with Patron and Camarena. I prefer to make mine with a blanco tequila. As I said in my Camarena Review post, it costs about $15 and Patron can run as high as $57 but I've purchased it as low as $32. If you use Camarena, as I have used here, you'll have margaritas for days all for about $23!

1. Pour 2 tablespoons of agave nectar into the shaker.
2. Pour 2 tablespoons of lime juice into the shaker.
3. Pour 1/4 cup of blanco tequila into the shaker.
4. Shake!
5. Serve over ice.

This recipe makes 1 serving. Multiply by as many guests you have or as many margaritas you want!
Comment your thoughts on this recipe or with a recipe of your own! I always love trying new margaritas!
